EuroQCI Italy – for the Italian and European Quantum Strategy

EUROQCI ITALY_ Save the Date

The EuroQCI – European Quantum Communication Infrastructure – will be a secure quantum communication infrastructure across the EU. The European Commission is working with all 27 EU Member States, and the European Space Agency (ESA), to design, develop and deploy the EuroQCI, composed of a ground segment – based on fiber optic communication networks connecting strategic sites – and of a satellite-based space segment. It will be an integral part of IRIS², the EU’s new secure space communications system.QUID (Quantum Italy Deployment) is the national implementation of EuroQCI in Italy: with the support of the Digital Europe Programme, it is designing and building the national quantum communication network, testing different technologies and protocols and adapting them to the specific needs of Italy.QUID is developed by a Consortium of 18 public and private partners, coordinated by the National Institute of Metrological Research: the Italian Space Agency, the National Research Council, , the Universities of L’Aquila, Naples, Padua, Rome ( Sapienza), Trieste, the Polytechnic of Milan, the companies Cohaerentia, Leonardo, Quantum Telecommunication Italia, Telecom Italia, Telespazio, Telsy, Thales Alenia Spazio Italia, Think Quantum and Top-ix.On October 16th, we will present EuroQCI Italia together, in the context of the Italian and European quantum strategy, with interventions on the QUID project, on the initiatives of the Ministries of Research and Industry, on the Commission’s strategy in the quantum context and on EuroQCI. The event will be held in Torino, scheduled to take place on October 16, 2024, at 10:00 am.
